A number of key landmarks in the country were illuminated in purple in conjunction with International Women's Day which is celebrated every 8th of March.

Among the location involved were the Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Bridge, Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja Building and Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas. The illumination is held for two days, starting on 7th March night, from 7 at night to 12 midnight. The initiative not only aims to commemorate the contributions and achievements of women in various fields but also serves as a symbol of support for efforts to empower women's roles in society.
