BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Brunei Under-23 player, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Faiq Jefri Bolkiah has signed for English Premier League table-toppers Leicester City from Chelsea reportedly believed to be a three-year' deal.

The 17-year old joined Chelsea on a two-year scholarship after having previous spells with Arsenal and Reading.

Faiq wrote on Instagram: "Happy to announce I have signed a long term professional contract at @lcfc.

"Would like to thank all my family and close friends for all the support. Was also a pleasure meeting the Owner himself. Can't wait to get started."

Faiq, who recently represented the Brunei Under-23 national team in the SEA Games last July, first burst onto the scene in the region when he featured for Arsenal Under-15 in the Lions City Cup in Singapore in 2013.

He later joined Chelsea in 2014 and made a series of appearances for the under-18 team managing two goals.

The promising winger has decided to make the switch from Stamford Bridge to the King Power Stadium with his current deal expiring in the summer.

A source close to ESPN claimed that Faiq had been offered a three-year professional deal at the end of the season with a view to him pushing for a place in the first-team.
