Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Singapore have the potential of further strengthening ties between both nations, especially in the aspects of economy, and people to people relations. His Excellency Doctor Mohamad Maliki bin Osman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, Republic of Singapore stated the matter in an interview during the Junjung Ziarah ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman.

His Excellency said the specialty began with the sincerity of relationship between both countries. One of the unique feature of this relationship, according to His Excellency, is the sincerity of the leaders. His Excellency added that Singapore has begun importing products from Brunei, starting with eggs and then beef.
