31-year-old Awang Abdul Hakim bin Haji Haslan has been selling cendol since 7 years ago. The home-based business was inherited from his family member to earn additional income. Cendol, which is made of rice flour, is now modernised, offering a variety of flavours while maintaining its originality, and is a popular choice among the public.
For Awang Abdul Hakim, family support encouraged him to continue his family's cendol business legacy so that cendol remains popular with the future generation.
