​The Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran acts as an important platform in shaping a youth generation who are faithful with noble character and capable of becoming outstanding community leaders. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports emphasised the matter at the Final of National Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran 1446/2025. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Youth and Sports Department, it took place at the Ministry, 19th June night.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad also stressed that the initiative is in line with efforts to make the National Youth Policy and Strategy 2020-2035 a success, which emphasises the holistic development of youth from an intellectual, physical and spiritual perspective, based on the Malay Islamic Monarchy Philosophy and Maqasid Syariah.

Yang Berhormat highlighted that the country wants to build a balanced generation of Bruneian Youth - who are not only academically and professionally skilled, but also have strong moral and spiritual values. The program invites participation from youths from various educational and career backgrounds, so that they can also experience the beauty of approaching and studying Al-Qur'an.

10 participants presented their reading, comprising 5 qari and 5 qariah, including the winners of the Youth Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran 2024.

Champion Qari was Awang Zainal Mustapa bin Jaluddin, while Champion Qariah was Dayang Najla' Sabreena binti Haji Abd Rajid. They received the challenge trophy; accompanying prizes; participation certificate; $3,000 cash prize; and a Retirement Savings Account amounting $700. Second placed Qari went to Awang Mohammad Hamiz Mirza Bin Haji Sudirman and Dayangku Akma Nabilah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri as the second placed Qariah. In third place for the Qari and Qariah category were Awang Muhammad Nur Asymawi bin Awang Asli and Dayang Nur Amal Atiqah @ Aida binti Haji Sudirman.
