With a deep passion in handicraft, a young man turned his interest into a part-time job. By preserving such handicraft, the youth are reviving the traditional crafts.
28-year-old Awangku Md Syafi Alhady bin Pengiran Abu Bakar's interest in making various types of machetes was derived from his father since he was 10 years old. To strengthen his skills, he also learned through technology and from skilled blacksmiths.
He has produced various types of handicrafts. The materials used are from second-hand goods and would be ready in one or two weeks, depending on the design from the customer. The price of the products, depending on the size, can range from $80 to $300.
All handicrafts are promoted via social media.
