His Royal Highness Prince Doctor Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, the Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB graced the Crown Prince Creative, Innovative Product and Technological Advancement, CIPTA Award 2025 ceremony. It was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. Upon arrival His Royal Highness as the Patron of the Crown Prince CIPTA Award was greeted by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development; and Datin Paduka Professor Doctor Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, UTB Vice Chancellor.

 

The recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat was led Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.

 

The UTB Vice-Chancellor in her welcoming speech, among other things, touched on the Special Award for Sustainable Energy which recognizes and promotes innovation in energy production.

 

The CIPTA 2025 theme, Green Innovation, emphasised the need to harness the creativity of individuals from various fields and technological advances in addressing environmental challenges.

 

His Royal Highness presented the prizes to the winners. No first and second place winners for the Creating New Products, Processes or Technology category. Third place went to 'Halal Green Military Ration Innovation for Brunei' Project. The 'Innovation in the Development of Electric Boats in Sustaining the Quality of Kampong Ayer's Ecosystem as a Tourism Attraction' Project received the 'Special Mention' Award and the 'Special Award for Sustainable Energy', Local Category One.

 

The 'Novel Filter-Less Single-Source Extendable Switched-Capacitor Boost Multilevel Inverter Suitable for Renewable and Industrial Applications' project won the Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology category; and 'Special Award for Sustainable Energy', Local Category 2. Second place was 'Sky-V AI, Next Generation Anamolies Detection Corrosion Detection'; and the third place went to the 'Development of Organic Foliar Spray Formulation for Enhanced Crop Growth and Yield' project.

 

The Creating New or Modifying Existing Product, Process or Technology, by Young Inventors category was won by 'Earth Battery: Sustainable Harvest' Project which also received the Special Award for Sustainable Energy for Local Category 3. Second place was the 'Smart Multi-Sensor for Efficient Plant Monitoring' project and 'Al-Soefe, the source of Electricity From Electrolysis' project took third place.

 

First Place for the 'Smart Junior' Competition Category was 'Wind Project', An alternative power source for moving vehicles' which also received the 'Special Award for Sustainable Energy', 'Smart Junior' Competition Category. The project named 'A Vertical Hydroponic System with A United and Cooperative Ecosystem' took second place and third place went to the 'BinGenius' project.

 

In the ASEAN Category, the New Invention and Innovation Category was won by the 'Development of Sustainable Marine Clay One-Part Geopolymer with Thermodynamic Modelling Optimization' Project. Second place was 'Eco-brick from Geopolymer-based Materials' which also received the 'Special Award for Sustainable Energy'. Third place was 'GreenPulse: Intelligent Algae Monitoring and Control for CO Two Sequestration' project.

 

There was no first place winner in the ASEAN Category for Young Inventors. The 'Chicken Fat Ointment' Project came in second place and the 'Formulating Paracetamol-Infused Jelly Using Fish Scale Gelatin for Pediatric Use' Project was third.

 

The Crown Princess Special Award was won by the "Novel Filter-Less Single-Source Extendable Switched-Capacitor Boost Multilevel Inverter Suitable for Renewable and Industrial Applications" project.

 

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince took a closer look at the exhibition and interacted with the winners.
