Brunei's SSEAYP Contingents Arrives Home

Brunei Darussalam's contingents who took part in the 43rd Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme 2016 (SSEAYP) returned home on Thursday night. They participated in the programme for 52 days since October 24 to December 15.


Present as the guest of honour for the welcoming ceremony at Brunei International Airport was Haji Mohd Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Also present was Pengiran Anak Mohd Sofian bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ibrahim, Acting Director of Youth and Sports, as well as senior officers at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.


The contingents were led by the national Leader, Pengiran Kamal Ariffin bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin. The 28 youths from Brunei among 330 youths from 11 countries who took part in the programme.
SSEAYP is an international youth exchange programme which is carried out specifically for youths from Asean member countries and Japan.
 

Since its establishment in 1974 it has been held annually.   The programme is fully organised and sponsored by the Japanese Government in cooperation with Mean member countries. It was Brunei's 31st participation since 1985.
