In order to continue to reach out to residents in the country, a Personal Contact Programme was held at the residence of Haji Abdurahman bin Haji Nasir, Penghulu of Mukim Labu and Acting Village Head of Kampong Piasau-Piasau.
The delegation was welcomed by Haji Abdurahman and members of the Village Consultative Council of Kampong Piasau-Piasau. Leading the delegation of the Information Department was Mawardi bin Haji Mohammad, Acting Director of Information, accompanied by officers and staff from various divisions and units under the department.
The programme is one of the ongoing activities conducted by the Information Department, Prime Minister's Office through the Community Unit, Nationhood and Community Division, which aims for face-to-face interactions intended to improve bilateral relations between the government and its people.
The programme is a platform for delivering government policies and intentions in order to maintain unity in the society. It was also to get opinions and suggestions, and hear issues that should be looked into and acted upon by the relevant authorities.
The programme, geared to reach out to the public through personal contact, is still relevant in this day and age, as it offers a more personal touch that can lead to more efficient interactions and goodwill.
