A seventy-year-old female Filipino national embraced Islam as her religious faith yesterday. The ceremony was held at the home of Awang Abdul Ajihis bin Haji Terawih, in Kampong Junjungan, Jalan Limau Manis.
Rosita Domingo Yap now goes by her Muslim name Dayang Aisyah binti Abdullah Yap after reciting her Syahadah, bearing witness that there is no other God besides Allah the Almighty and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is His messenger.
The event then continued with Dikir Marhaban.
The conversion was assisted by officers from the Islamic and Conversion Guidance Unit, Islamic Da'wah Centre.
From January to December 2015, 515 people have accepted the Islamic faith nationwide, and from January to March 2016, 127 people accepted the Islamic faith nationwide.
From January to March 2016, 56 people converted to Islam in the Brunei-Muara District alone.
