Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV challenged the President Rodrigo Duterte as he revived on Thursday, February 16, allegations on the President’s bank accounts containing over P2 billion.
Trillanes put his position on the line as he dared the President to prove him wrong.
“kung mali ako magre-resign ako ora mismo,” Trillanes said in a press conference.
The Senator said that the P2-billion amount of money was accumulated from 2006 to 2015. He, however, claimed the accounts have been cleared after he exposed the issue last year.
“Nilinis na nila ang account. ’Pag tiningnan mo ang balance, maliit na. Noong panahong na-expose ito, ang total ay higit P2B,” Trillanes said.
Trillanes presented photocopies of illegal activities involving the President’s account with some under transactions rendered under the name of Cielito Avancena.
Also included in the photocopies is a list of the accounts of Duterte’s children, Sara Carpio, Paolo Duterte, and Sebastian Duterte, and Samuel Uy.
The Senator claimed the plunder complaint he previously filed against President Duterte contains information coming from Davao City intelligence funds.
