In conjunction with the 96th Police Day Celebration, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to officiate at the opening of the Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters Building in Jalan Tungku, Gadong.
Shortly after arrival, His Majesty mingled with former Commissioners of Police. His Majesty then officiated the Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters Building. Construction of this over 20-million dollar building began in 2010 and was fully completed in August 2014. His Majesty then consented to receive a ‘Pesambah’ that symbolises the strength of the police force in upholding justice, peace and order of the nation.
During this visit, His Majesty and the Royal Family members toured several sections of the Royal Brunei Police Force Headquarters. These included the General Administration and Finance Department Director's Office and the Personnel and Career Planning Sections.
In further consolidating its roles and services, the Royal Brunei Police Force fosters cooperation not only with the relevant agencies and the public but also with the regional and international police forces to combat and prevent cross-border crimes, through a transnational force like INTERPOL. Apart from that, Royal Brunei Police Force is also involved in several international peacekeeping missions such as that in Mindanao, the Republic of the Philippines. Such cooperation helps to further enhance the capability and capacity of the Royal Brunei Police Force.
