The establishment of a reading corner at Pusat Al-Islah aims to provide exposure to the residents on the outside world through reading. Apart from that, it will also assist the resident's treatment and rehabilitation processes through reading materials. Hajah Nortijah Binti Haji Mohd Hassan, Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau stated the matter during the launching of Pusat Al-Islah's reading corner in Kampung Kupang, Tutong.

According to Hajah Nortijah, Pusat Al-Islah has acquired the mobile library services since 2013. As such services received encouraging responses from the residents, the Language and Literature Bureau suggested the establishment of a reading corner in Pusat Al-Islah. With the reading corner, residents will have access to reading materials at any time.

The establishment of the reading corner is the 6th of kind by the Language and Literature Bureau. The reading corner, which is equipped with a variety of reading materials, is hoped to meet the demands of the residents and inculcate the culture of reading.
