A reunion for the Independence Cohort students of Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic Boys Secondary School (SMALHB) took place on Sunday at The Rizqun Coffee House in Gadong.

The joyous event, which carried the theme 'Muhibbah SMALHB 1984', saw over 60 alumni attending the event.

The event celebrated the SMALHB Golden Jubilee and Silver Jubilee of Mahad Islam Brunei as the former students not only studied at SMALHB but also at Mahad Islam and were the first batch to graduate from Mahad Islam Brunei in 1990.

The former students achieved excellence in their academic fields from Diploma to Doctorate level and hold several important posts; both in the government and private sectors.

The reunion, which is based on the 1984 independence spirit, hoped to instill a higher level of confidence among the former students, and continue to contribute to the nation, country and religion particularly in achieving the Brunei Vision 2035.
