JCI Accredited, Pengkalan Batu Health Centre

With the accreditation by the Joint Commission International, JCI, the Pengkalan Batu Health Centre is hoped to become a benchmark for other health centres and hospitals in the country to achieve international standards in healthcare services, stated by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohimin bin Haji Johari, Legislative Council member, after the media conference held yesterday.

 

Yang Berhormat added that Mukim Pengkalan Batu residents will also be actively involved and provide cooperation in the planning and implementation of health promotion activities. The Pengkalan Batu Health Centre also prepares several action plans to improve the quality of healthcare and services through the gathering, analysis and monitoring of data and statistics.

 

Patient safety is always at the core of all services provided by the government health centres and hospitals. It is in line with one of the strategic priorities of the Ministry of Health in providing quality service delivery. Pengkalan Batu Health Centre has recently been granted the status of Joint Commission International (JCI) Accredited.

 

This matter was shared by Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifli, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy) at the Ministry of Health during the media conference. According to Doctor Hazri, the Pengkalan Batu Health Centre has met the JCI standards and implemented plan, policy and procedures in ensuring a continuous and systematic quality comprises of all services at the health centre.

 

Among the improvement qualities include the observation and data collection for high risked processes; staff continuous capacity development through training, education and efficiency assessment as well as an active community involvement in health promotion activities. To maintain the centre's accreditation, J-C-I and the Quality and Accreditation office, Ministry of Health will continue to monitor the performance and outcome of the 3 years cycle accreditation. Also present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohimin bin Haji Johari @ Jahari, Legislative Council Member as Ketua of Kampung Limau Manis.
