SINGAPORE

The remains of two Malaysian motorcyclists killed in the crash at the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Saturday (March 11) have arrived in Johor.

Family members on Sunday were in the midst of conducting wake and funeral arrangements for the two victims; Loke Whay Nam, 50, and Lim Chun Hong, 34, who were both killed in the Saturday road tragedy.

Loke's remains arrived at the Johor Baru Tiong Hua memorial park at 5.40pm while Lim's remains was sent for funeral arrangements to Kahang, near Kluang.

It was reported that two Malaysians were killed, while another six motorcyclists were injured when a van ploughed into them at the BKE at about 3.50pm. The six injured victims were sent to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in Yishun.

Meanwhile, people were seen offering prayers and peace offerings at the site of the accident on Sunday. However, it could not be ascertained if they were family members of Loke's or Lim's.

The New Straits Times attempted to meet with family members at the Singapore General Hospital's mortuary but were told that the place was off-limits to the press.

The names of the six injured motorcyclists and a motorcyclist who was unhurt were also withheld. They were so far believed to be Malaysians. NEW STRAITS TIMES
