BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Magistrate's Court has given a local man more time to consider his plea, after he was charged with bribing a civil servant.

Haji Duraman bin Talip was alleged to have given $250 to an officer at the Ministry of Education's Vehicles and Transportation Section, in exchange for the approval of a boat services contract with the ministry.

This was also confirmed in a press release by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, whose investigations led to the indictment.

Magistrate Azrimah binti Abdul Rahman released the defendant yesterday, on a bail of $10,000, or on two local sureties, pending the next mention of the, case on May 21.

DPP Nurjauinah Haji Kula represented the Public Prosecutor in the case.
