A twenty-seven-year-old local man currently faces a maximum penalty of three years imprisonment with fine for allegedly assaulting his 30-year-old wife.

The plea of Mohammad Faizal bin Burot @ Karim was not taken as Deputy Public Prosecutor Sharon Yeo asked for time to finalise evidence which includes a pathologist's report on the victim's injury.

Magistrate Azrimah Abdul Rahman fixed the case for further mention on April 11.

Mohammad Faizal allegedly hit his wife's head repeatedly while they were in a car at The Airport Mall, Berakas at 12.45pm on March 22.
