The government's initiative to raise public awareness especially among the younger generation on the importance of savings from an early age is greatly appreciated. The measure can build a financially literate generation who knows the ways of handling financial issues.

Yang Berhormat Awang Iswandy bin Ahmad, Member of the Legislative Council voiced the view in an interview with the media during the National Savings Day 2017 Roadshow at Katok Secondary School yesterday morning. Awang Isawandy said that financial awareness and anything pertaining to finance must be nurtured from young especially among students as well as the family members. He also hoped that all levels of the community would take the opportunity to learn to improve their knowledge in financial management skills.

100 students took part in this roadshow.  Various interactive games and activities were lined up to attract the students' interest themed 'Financial Management and Currency Introduction'. The roadshow is organised by Autoriti Moneteri Brunei Darussalam, AMBD, Tabung Amanah Pekerja, TAP, and several companies from the private sector. The roadshow will be extended to the Belait District this Monday.
