The Fire and Rescue Department is still investigating the cause of the fire that gutted a house in Kampong Pudak at noon today. According to the Fire and Rescue Department, they received a call at 12.10 in the afternoon.

Ten fire-fighters were involved in putting out the fire. Three fire boats from the Marine Fire Station and Sungai Kebun Fire Station rushed to the location. The fire was extinguished within 5 minutes. The house owned by Awang Haji Abdullah bin Menuddin was left empty since 2010. According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the estimated loss was 15 thousand dollars. At the location were Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof, permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs and his deputy, Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Ali.
