In this modern world, muslims must protect the validity of an information so that it does not bring about harm, chaos and enmity among the community especially in the dissemination of news through social media, television programmes and others. The sophistication of mass or social media can make an issue be spread in the blink of an eye without the ability of being stopped.

This was among the issues discussed during the Contemporary Nadwah or Call entitled Extremism Threatens Ummah Solidarity. Among those present was Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Mahajaraja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Also present were Doctor Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, Acting Rector of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA and Doctor Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Acting Ra'es of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB.

The Contemporari Nadwah was conducted by three panel members namely Professor Dato Doctor Sayyed Muhammad Aqiel bin Ali Al-Mahdaly from UNISSA; Doctor Mohamed bin Ali from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and Doctor Haji Hambali bin Haji Jaili from KUPU SB. The Contemporari Nadwah is a platform in providing the correct understanding revolving around the idea as well as from the views of the Mahzab Syafie school of thought as well as views from the other three mazhab. The Contemporari Nadwah was organised by UNISSA through the Mazhab Syafie Research Centre with the cooperation of the Ahli Sunnah Waljamaah Understanding Studies Centre, KUPU SB. The event was attended by more than 200 people.
