Ever since the Education Intervention Programme, P-I-P of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was introduced in 2006, 32 Year 6 pupils have been selected to further their studies at Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School under a special scholarship after attaining excellent results in the Primary School Assessment, PSR.

This proves that the Tuition Class Project has successfully assisted and guided pupils who come from low-income families and are weak in their studies, to excel academically. This achievement has motivated Yayasan to continue carrying out the project to this day.

The provision of tuition classes under the PIP throughout the country, is among the efforts by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah towards the development of education and human capital in line with the country's education policy and philosophy.

As in previous years, the Tuition Class Project under P-I-P are held at several centres in the four districts. As of last year, year 6 pupils attending the Tuition Class Project in the Brunei Muara District have been arranged to attend the programme at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (U-B-D). This change is carried out to ensure a more interactive learning experience and convenience with the use of ICT.

The tuition classes are held every Sundays expect for the Temburong district, where they are held every Monday and Tuesday nights. Throughout the tuition classes, the pupils attend classes on several core subjects.
