KB Sentral Showcases Car Meet For Classic Enthusiasts

 April 17th, 2017  |  08:38 AM  |   798 views

KUALA BELAIT

KB SENTRAL was recently host to a Classic Car Meet, featuring a vintage line-up of cars and motorcycles from the 1970s.

A total of 27 vehicles -including the Volkswagen Beetle and the infamous AE-86 Sprinter Trueno - went on display during the three-day exhibition, which attracted curious passers-by and car enthusiasts to the main lobby of the shopping centre.

Haji Mohd Fitzila bin Haji Mohd Yunus, a working committee member for the Kuala Belait Retro Cars, said that the main objective of the event was to galvanise more members of the public into taking an interest in vintage cars.

Asked about the difficulties of maintaining these vehicles, he said, "There are challenges in preserving classic cars, in terms of spare parts, as well as the cost of maintenance."

But he added that it was this very challenge which allowed him to meet others with the same zeal for restoring classic cars.

"The Internet makes it easy these days to communicate with people from around the globe who share the same passion, as well as providing spare parts for the cars' maintenance," he said.
