The Fire and Rescue Department this morning held a tahlil and mass reading of Surah Yasin for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit in conjunction with its 57th anniversary. More than 100 Fire and Rescue officers, personnel and staff attended the ceremony which was held at the Royal Mausoleum.

Among those in attendance were Awang Haji Idris bin Haji Mohammad Ali and Awang Haji Sunadi bin Haji Buntar, the Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Also present was Retired Lieutenant Colonel Awang Yahya bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Director of Fire and Rescue. The recitation of Surah Yasin and Tahlil was led by Awang Haji Adanan bin Haji Ahmad, the Head Religious Teacher of the Fire and Rescue Department.
