The Naubat Opening Ceremony was held late this afternoon at the Lapau building in the capital. The Naubat had been closed for 20 days following the demise of Pengiran Seri Wijaya Pengiran Haji Ahmad bin Pengiran Mohammad Yusof on the 11th of April.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar. The ceremony commenced with a tahlil ceremony led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal.

Meanwhile, Doa Tahlil and Doa Allah Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

The mass Fardhu Maghrib prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.   Present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri and Manteri-Manteri Hulubalang.
