The Radio Brunei service has undergone transformations and developments since it began broadcasting 60 years ago. To survive and be able to fulfil audience tastes, the radio service has taken proactive steps and became more adaptive as well as responsive to environmental changes and is able to face with reality. In line with rapid technology development, radio service has adapted modern and latest method to attract its audiences. The historical development of 60 years radio service can be seen at the '6 Decades of Radio Brunei' exhibition in conjunction with the Diamond Jubilee of Radio Brunei.
The 6 Decade Radio Brunei Exhibition showcases the developments and achievements of 5 networks and 3 radio units. Apart from that, various interactive activities with visitors were also organised. Also taking part in the exhibition are the Radio Engineering Division, News and Current Affairs, Enterprise and Training and Development Division. Pengiran Ahmad bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Chairman of Diamond Jubilee or 60 Years of Radio Brunei Committee in an interview said the exhibits include the era of new media. He added, the radio service is using new media with the introduction of facebook and instagram accounts for every of its 5 networks and units. It hoped the effort will help in the ratings or public response in further developing and adapting the radio production in this digital era.
Radio Brunei Service also implemented several initiatives in producing a capable and intelligent young generation in broadcasting. The Modal Insan or Human Capital Project known as 'Tunas Radio' aims to discover youth who are interested and capable in radio broadcasting. The exhibition is open to the public daily until Sunday except on Friday when it will be open from 2 in the afternoon.
