Signing Of Memorandum of Understanding on Investment Cooperation

The government of Brunei Darussalam, Darussalam Assets Sendirian Berhad and China Fortune Land Development, CFLD has signed three entities of Memorandum of Understanding to establish strategic public-private partnership in Brunei Darussalam. Under the MOU, the parties will co-invest and develop the Special Economic Zone, an area spanning approximately 40 square kilometres at the Jerudong waterfront and Tungku region to be developed under CLFD's flagship new industry city model. The signing of the MOU's was held yesterday at The Empire Hotel and Country Club.
Dato Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Mohamad Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance who is also the Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Darussalam Assets in his speech said the MOU paves the way for greater collaboration between CFLD International and Brunei Darussalam. The Deputy Minister of Finance added that the involvement of the Brunei Government and Darussalam Assets in this strategic partnership shows our confidence in CLFD's abilities to harness public-private partnerships in developing successful New Industry Cities geared towards socio-economic development locally.
Signing on behalf of the Brunei Government was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Roselan bin Haji Mohamad Daud, Deputy Minister Prime Minister's Office who is also member of the Foreign Direct Investment and Downstream Industry Steering Committee.
Meanwhile, representing Darussalam Assets was Dato Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Mohamad Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance. Signing on behalf of CFLD International was its President, Mr Jerry Zhao. Witnessing the signing ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at Prime Minister Office and Second Minister of Finance. Also present, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Retired Colonel Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, the Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister's Office and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.
