The Speaker of the Legislative Council today received in separate courtesy calls from two foreign representatives in the country. The calls, held at the Legislative Council Building, portray the close relations and cooperation between both parties.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, first received courtesy call from His Excellency Ouk Chandara, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cambodia to Brunei Darussalam. During the call, both leaders exchanged views and discussed on cooperation efforts that can be forged between the country's Legislative Council and Cambodia.

Yang Berhormat then received courtesy call from His Excellency Suat Akgun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam. Yang Berhormat and His Excellency also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between the Legislative Council and Turkey. Also present were Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, the Secretary of the Council of Cabinet Ministers and Clerk to the Legislative Council, Dayang Rose Aminah binti Haji Ismail, the Deputy Clerk of the Legislative Council as well as several senior officers of the Department of Councils.
