Muslims are encouraged to enliven the night of Nisfu Sya'ban or the middle of the month of Sya'ban by enhancing their religious practices and zikir in order to gain blessings. This evening, Reading of Surah Yasin and Special Doa in conjunction with Nisfu Sya'ban were held at all mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country.

In the Brunei Muara District, the main focus was the Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong. Mass Fardhu Maghrib Prayer and reading of Surah Yasin 3 times and Special Doa were led by Yang DiMuliakan Begawan Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Mustafa bin Haji Murat. Present among the congregants was Awang Haji Harun bin Haji Junid, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The reading of Surah Yasin and Special Doa in conjunction with Nisfu Sya'an ceremony in the Belait District was held at the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque. The night of nisfu syaban contains many blessings and virtues and Muslims are encouraged to multiply their religious deeds.

In the Tutong District, such a ceremony took place at the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Tutong Town. As usual, Muslim all over the world celebrate the arrival of Nisfu Sya'ban by increasing their religious deeds and gather at mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country.

Mohammad Salleh Main Mosque in Bangar Town was the focal pointk for the reading of surah Yasin and Special Doa in conjunction with Nisfu Sya'ban in the Temburong District. The night of Nisfu Syaaban, celebrated every 15th of Sya'ban is one of the nights that are full of blessings when doa or prayers are fulfilled besides the night of Lailatul Qadar.

Meanwhile, the Royal Brunei Police Force also held a similar ceremony. The function that took place at the Surau of the Police Headquarters in Gadong was attended by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Pengiran Haji Muhammad bin Pengiran Haji Metali, Director of General Administration and Finance.
