To glorify the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne this year, the Language and Literature Bureau will organise a Syair Writing Contest.

The contest is open to the citizens and permanent residents of the country aged 18 and above. Participation forms can be obtained at the Language and Literature Bureau in Berakas during office hours and the closing date is on the 6th of July 2017 during office hours. Completed forms must be sent to the Secretariat of the contest, Literature Development Unit, 3rd Floor, Language and Literature Bureau, Old Airport, Berakas.
