Party Secretary General and State President  Bounnhang Vorachit on May 11 in an interview with Chinese media,  including China Radio International (CRI), said that the “One Belt One Road” initiative has brought development opportunities to developing countries including  Lao PDR  and  intangible  benefits to people of each country.

“The Lao PDR supports the initiative “One Belt One Road” and places a high trust on the cooperation between Laos and China under the ”One Belt One Road” framework,” said the President.

President Bounnhang was invited to attend  the “Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation scheduled to take place on May 14-15.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Laos and National Development and  Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China are expected to sign a master plan on boosting cooperation on developing the “One Belt One Road” between Laos and China.

“In the era of globalization and  integration, which is full of opportunities and challenges, no country can tackle problems on its own. Win-win cooperation is the reality of this era. One Belt One Road has strengthened closeness and connectivity within the region and among regions  and  provides opportunities for developing countries including the Lao PDR to improve basic infrastructure using the potential and funding of the initiative of China. I believe that One Belt One Road will truly bring benefits to the people of participating countries,  including the Lao PDR,” said  President  Bounnhang.
