(KPL) President Bounnhang Vorachit and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have expressed their appreciation of the bilateral cooperation between the two nations, which has been strengthened horizontally and vertically in a four-fold direction - good neighbourship, good friendship, good camaraderie and good partnership in their strategic comprehensive partnership.

The two leaders, along with their delegations of senior officials , met in Beijing on May 16 following the two-day major Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation event, also held in China’s capital city.

Both leaders agreed to urge the officials of their respective countries to continue enhancing and promoting the cooperation between the two Parties and governments of the two countries.

At the meeting, President Bounnhang Vorachit expressed congratulations to China for its successful hosting of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation and invited President Xi Jinping to visit Laos at his convenience. 

In reply, President Xi Jinping expressed thanks to his Lao counterpart for leading the delegation of Laos in attending the Belt and Road Forum held in Beijing and appreciated Lao PDR for supporting and taking part in the One Belt One Road strategy.

Both sides also share similar points of view on regional and international issues of common interest.

The two leaders also witnessed the signing of 9 documents related to a master plan on supporting the One Belt One Road initiative, economy and related techniques, education, health, hydropower, and finance.
