The arrival of the blessed month of Ramadhan was glorified with the Sunat Tarawih prayer and Tadarus Al-Quran ceremony at all mosques, suraus and religious halls throughout the country that began last night. The focal point of such religious activities was the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital. Muslims are urged to perform the Sunat Tarawih prayer during the month of Ramadhan as it contains a multitude of rewards and blessings.

Also held last night was the Tadarus Al-Quran Opening Ceremony which commenced with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony was conducted by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Mosque Affairs Department with the cooperation of the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque Takmir Committee. Also present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs and Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
