Arsenal Look To £40m Mahrez With Alexis And Ozil Still Heading For Exits

Arsene Wenger praises the work of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, and plays down speculation about their futures.

The football world's gossip mill is in full swing, and Transfer Talk is monitoring the whispers ahead of all the summer moves. Check out the latest deals and potential deals here.

Mahrez arrival could offset Sanchez loss

Arsene Wenger shared a special moment with Alexis Sanchez at Wembley last weekend to celebrate Arsenal's shock FA Cup victory over Chelsea, but the Chilean has no intention to follow the boss by penning new terms, and the Times claims he is eyeing a move to Bayern Munich.

Mesut Ozil, too, will knock back the Gunners' last efforts to try and tie him down for the long-term, though the German would prefer to leave on a free transfer in 2018, according to the outlet.

The star duo are therefore likely to knock back a wage structure-shattering £280,000-per-week pay packet.

As well as the Bundesliga champions, Sanchez will have the opportunity to join Chelsea, Manchester City or PSG. Ozil has yet to receive major offers, which is a factor in his decision to make himself a free agent as a 29-year-old next summer.

With two of his stars eager to leave, Wenger will need to spend to bring in new talent and the Sun believes he will attempt to make two big-money signings, including Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian will cost at least £40 million after telling the Foxes he wants to leave, while another target could be RB Leipzig's Emil Forsberg.

Bayern Munich want the Swedish winger too, with a £30m offer likely to surface from both clubs for the 24-year-old.

Riyad Mahrez has handed in a transfer request as he attempts to move away from Leicester City this summer.

Silva to raid Hull for trio

Marco Silva has only just left Hull City after an admirable effort to pull off a dramatic escape from relegation, and now he is already eyeing up some of his former players after taking over at Watford, reports the Mirror.

Kamil Grosicki, Omar Elabdellaoui and Eldin Jakupovic are the Tigers with whom the Portuguese worked previously and is now intent on bringing with him to Vicarage Road.

Grosicki would be the star man after arriving from Rennes in January for £7m and the Hornets are prepared to offer a small profit after six months with a £7.7m offer.

Swiss shot-stopper Jakupovic would cost £1.8m, and Watford will also try to bring in Elabdellaoui from Olympiakos for £5.5m after an impressive loan spell at the KCOM Stadium.

Milan clubs prepare mega window

AC Milan and Inter are both prepared to spend big this summer in a bid to break back into the top three in Serie A and Corriere dello Sport details both clubs' shopping lists.

The Rossoneri want to wrap up a deal for Atalanta starlet Franck Kessie with Vincenzo Montella keen to make a bid for Lazio duo Lucas Biglia and Keita Balde, as well.

Luciano Spalletti, who is expected to move to the San Siro and take over at the Nerazzurri after it was announced Tuesday that his second stint at Roma was over, wants to return to the capital for Radja Nainggolan, Antonio Rudiger and Gerson.

The ESPN FC panel delve into John Brooks' reported record transfer from Hertha Berlin to VfL Wolfsburg.

Tap-ins

- Kylian Mbappe has played down his desire to play for Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid but cautioned that he's "not afraid to leave" Monaco.

Mbappe, 18, took Europe by storm this season, scoring 16 goals in Ligue 1 for title-winning Monaco, to go with six more goals in the Champions League.

- After agreeing to a £10m fee with Bournemouth for Asmir Begovic, Chelsea will move for PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, reports the Sun.

The 24-year-old played second fiddle to Kevin Trapp for large spells of last season and Antonio Conte will look to persuade him to play a similar role for the Blues.

- Huddersfield's promotion to the Premier League was built on several shrewd loan moves and it seems as if the Terriers will follow that pattern next season, says the Mirror.

Additionally, David Wagner wants West Ham youngster Ashley Fletcher on a season-long loan as his side are already looking ahead to the prospect of Premier League survival in the 2017-18 campaign.
