BRUNEI-MUARA

Year 6 students of Serasa Primary School as well as their parents and guardians yesterday attended 'Bah Lakastah Sama-Sama', a parenting skill development programme, organised by the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) and the Ministry of Education at the school's multi-purpose hall.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by an ice breaking session prior to a motivational lecture on 'Mengasi Kurapak Ku' delivered by Awang Haji Ali Yusri bin Abdul Ghafur, Head of the Counselling Unit at the Department of Schools' Counselling and Career Guidance Section.

Other activities that were carried out during the event included a group discussion, motivational programmes, sharing sessions, skills enhancement workshop and many others.

A prize presentation ceremony was held in the afternoon for the winners of the activities carried out including a lucky draw.

The event ended with the summarisation and evaluation of the programme.

The motivational talk sought to remind the students of their role and responsibility in achieving academic success and shaping their future.

The programme also provided opportunities for parents to share their expectations with their children and vice versa while strengthening ties between them.
