The Mukim Kota Batu and Mukim Kianggeh Consultative Councils this morning held the reading of Surah Yassin and Tahlil ceremony for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saiffuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit. The ceremony was held at the Royal Mausoleum in the capital.

The reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil were led by Awang Haji Sanip bin Haji Nasar, Imam of Serdang Mosque. Present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs, as the Advisor of the Mukim Kota Batu Consultative Council. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Naim bin Haji Kamis, a legislative council member, as the Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kianggeh; as well as village residents under Mukim Kota Batu and Mukim Kianggeh.
