Jigsaw Playschool recently celebrated Earth Day to teach the children more about how they can help the planet and do their part to make a difference each day.

The theme for this year's celebration was 'Small hands making a BIG difference'.

Together with their family, the children made their pledge to doing something extra to help the environment throughout the year, according to a press release.

Some families pledged to plant a tree, to conserve water and practise re-use of 'grey water'. Others pledged to do more to compost kitchen waste and reduce waste matter.

The children were also keen to do their part in saving energy, practising the 3R's and protecting our forests and wildlife.

Recently, the KG3 Picasso class students and their families made their way to Muara Beach to enjoy a day out in nature. It was a great time of family bonding and to share happy moments with friends. They delved into painting and made their pledges for Earth Day, while taking in the crisp morning air.

The highlight of their day was a treasure hunt. They combed the beach area, looking for clues to find their buried treasure. While hunting for treasure, the children collected litter along the way, as part of their beach clean-up effort.
