Mahad Islam Brunei recently held a motivational talk for its Year 10A and Year 11 at the school's main hall in preparation for their upcoming Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB) and GCE 'O' level examinations.

One-hundred-and-fifty students and teachers attended the event, where the guest of honour was Ustazah Hajah Siti Marjiana binti Haji Mohammad, the Head of Administration, Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Also present were Mahad Islam Brunei Acting Principal, Pengiran Asmady bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin and Islamic Studies Department officers.

The event started with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Awang Muhammad Wassim bin Muhammad Rizal, a Year 11 student.

Titled 'The Importance of Responsibilities for a Student,' the talk was delivered by Dayang Masiryanti binti Haji Mashor, Counselling Officer from Islamic Studies Department.

She encouraged students to be responsible to their parents, teachers and Allah the Almighty, and also to balance their time for school work and leisure, avoid procrastination and make persistent efforts to achieve excellence.
