Members of the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque Takmir committee and Mosque Affairs Department in collaboration with the Tutong District Mosque Affairs Section recently held a Dikir Asraqal Jawi Workshop at the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Serusop.

The one-day workshop was attended by some 70 participants consisting of contestants of the Asraqal Jawi competition, Imam and Bilal as well as members of the Takmir Mosque Committee.

The workshop was facilitated by Imam Haji Muslim bin Haji Abdul Razak, the Imam of the Mohamed Bolkiah Mosque, and Awang Haji Masri bin Haji Mohamad, the Mosque Affairs Officer of Tutong District.

The workshop aimed to highlight Dikir Asraqal Jawi as one of Brunei's traditional Dikir songs which will be contested in the national level in May as well as to provide an in-depth knowledge of the Dikir to the participants.

It is hoped that the workshop will be able to provide guidance to the participants on techniques and knowledge on how to tune in the song.
