The opportunity to visit Istana Nurul Iman, which is usually open for 3 days during Hari Raya, has been a tradition which extends way back. The second day of the Open Istana today continued in a lively atmosphere with the presence of thousands of visitors. It represents a golden opportunity not only for citizens and residents in the country, but also for foreign nationals working and residing here, as well as visitors from abroad.
As early as morning, the Istana Nurul Iman compound was already full of well-wishers who did not want to pass up the opportunity to meet and convey their Hari Raya greetings to His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri as well as other members of the Royal Family.
The visitors' attendance at the Istana was treated with warmth and an organised management. Special transportations were provided to ferry visitors to Istana Nurul Iman, while at the management section, the registration session was carried out in an efficient and systematic manner.

The open-minded attitude of Their Majesties as well as members of the Royal Family in welcoming guests at the junjung ziarah reflects a sense of care for citizens and residents in the country. The warmth on display during the junjung ziarah symbolises the His Majesty's integrity in narrowing the gap between the monarch and his subjects.
Foreign nationals who are either working here or on a visit to the country were clearly impressed with the country's tradition and culture in celebrating the auspicious day, which clearly displays the close relation between the Monarch and citizens and residents in the country. Visitors also received special treatment and due attention during their time at Istana Nurul Iman.
The 'Open Istana' concept for the public is definitely a proud moment not only for the country's citizens and residents, but also for visitors from abroad who all went back with a special gift in their collection.
Happiness were clearly seen in the visitors' faces after having had the opportunity to personally meet His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri as well as other members of the Royal Family. The experience of personally meeting and greeting His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri as well as members of the Royal Family will certainly become a valuable and lasting memory for the visitors.
