​The Bermukun Festival in conjunction with His Majesty's 71st Birthday celebration was also held in the Temburong District. The festival, organised by Radio Television Brunei's Temburong District Branch, was held at the Community Hall Complex field in Pekan Bangar.

6 groups took part in the festival -- one each from the Brunei Muara and Temburong districts, and 4 from neighbouring Limbang. Prizes were presented by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, member of the Legislative Council. Such an event aims to introduce the bermukun culture to the younger generation so that it is not lost in the era of modernisation. Themed "Hari Keputeraan", participants belted out poems which express gratefulness and loyalty to the beloved monarch.
