​Parents play an important role in eradicating misuse of drugs so that children will not resort to such a menace. Misuse of drugs can also lead to violence, broken marriage and divorce. Among the measures that parents need to implement to prevent children from getting involved in drug abuse are to always pray for their well-being and success in this world and the hereafter, since parents' prayers are effective and likely to be fulfilled by Allah Subhanahu Wataala. Parents must also ensure that their children perform the prayers properly especially the 5 times daily prayers, for prayers can prevent them from wrongdoing and despicable acts. The reminder was highlighted in today's Friday Sermon entitled,

"Drug-free, Happy Family."

The Imam delivering the sermon said that misuse of drugs is the cause of social ailments that are spreading globally affecting the economic, community and national development. The sermon called on the ummah to raise public awareness and understanding towards the dangers of drug-abuse and strive to control the menace from ruining our children. This can be achieved by faithfully performing the religious obligations as commanded by Allah Subhanahu wata'ala and abstaining from all that are forbidden. The ummah were reminded that harmonious and happy families are drug-free. By remaining so, hopefully, the nation and people would always be under the protection of Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala and blessed.
