Upko Penampang Information Bureau will be organising a program to help unemployed youths secure jobs.

The pilot project will be conducted with local NGOs, the bureau’s chief Petrus Mojuntin said.

“We are targeting to help about 200 youths gain employment,” he said adding that the program would  run for four months.

Petrus said the program was called “Youth Employability and Connecting with Local Employers” and their target would be school leavers or those who had finished their studies at higher learning institutions.

The participants of the program will be guided on ways to write a resume as well as how to send in a job application and how to conduct themselves during interviews.

There will also be a motivational talk for the participants.

“We have paid a courtesy call on Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Datuk Siringan Gubat to brief him about the program,” Petrus said.
