KOTA KINABALU

More than five government officers from an agency are expected to be arrested and charged by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) this month.

Sabah MACC director Datuk Sazali Salbi said the arrests are expected to be conducted from 20th to 23rd of this month.

“We had a meeting this morning to set up strategy on how to conduct the operation and investigations are still going on.

“Definitely from the 20th this month there will be arrest, but at the moment we cannot reveal which department.

“There will be more than five, but less than 10 officers from one agency involved,” he added.

Sazali also said there will be an operation against another agency next month.

“I have briefed about the other operation to headquarters in Putrajaya and the plan has been approved.

“MACC will also call up anyone, even the suspects’ wives, children or siblings, to assist the investigations,” he said, after attending an event at the state Federal Administrative Complex here today.
