BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

The Wildlife Showcase is another approach to promote the importance of protecting endangered species to the community, especially among the youths.  The briefing held at government and private secondary schools is organised by the Wildlife Section, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism with the cooperation of Brunei Methanol Company, BMC.

More than 150 students and teachers from Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri, the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College and the Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School attended the briefing.  Bringing the roadshow to the students was among the efforts to educate the young generation in the protection of wildlife.  Also present was Awang Haji Azis bin Haji Nayan, the Acting Director of Co-curriculum Education.

They also watched a video clip and heard a briefing on the role and function of the Wildlife Section as well as on the Turtle Conservation and Management Programme and the Nature Lovers Group as the non-governmental organisation NGO active in providing related education.  There was also a quiz session and mini-exhibition on the Wildlife Section.
