Trans Borneo Expedition Closing Ceremony

The Trans Borneo 2017 is a road adventure covering all 3 countries on Borneo Island namely Malaysia's Sabah and Sarawak; Brunei Darussalam, and Indonesia's Kalimantan. The event started in Kota Kinabalu on the 13th of August 2017 and ended yesterday in Brunei Darussalam. The Closing Ceremony was held last night at Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong.

 

The 15 day expedition covered more than 2,100 Kilometres. With a convoy of 20 vehicles and 60 participants, the expedition's main mission was to create history by making the first 4 wheel drive overland expedition crossing through the heart of Borneo through Malinau; North Kalimantan to West Kalimantan and crossing Ba'kelalan in Sarawak. The expedition was organised by Brunei Darussalam; Malaysia; and Indonesia and supported by the Brunei Indonesia Malaysia Philippines - East Asia Growth Area, BIMP-EAGA business council.

 

Certificates were presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism. Also present was Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary resources and Tourism.
