The Malay Islamic Monarchy, MIB Lecture Competition acts as a platform to disseminate information on MIB to the public as per the declaration of MIB as the Brunei Darussalam concept on the 1st of January 1984. The district level MIB lecture competition in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's Accession to the Throne was held this morning at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz AlQuran Institute.

12 participants showcased their talents in the competition. Prizes were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal, Member of the Privy Council who is also a Member of the Legislative Council. Dayang Siti Nurul Afifah binti Haji Zaidin emerged champion of the Higher Education Institute category while The IBTE and Secondary School category was won by Awang Muhammad Firdaus bin Sait.

The public category was won by Awang Muhammad Naqib bin Haji Awang. Winners will represent the Brunei Muara District at the national level competition to be held in September. Also present was Awang Roslan bin Haji Tajaah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
