Passing Out Parade for 159th Intake of Male Recruits

The responsibility of defending peace and well-being must be shouldered by citizens at all levels. As army and defence personnel, defending the country's sovereignty is the main duty. Retired Captain Dato Paduka Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence underscored the matter in his speech at the Passing out Parade for the 159th intake of Male recruits at the Drill Ground of the RBAF Training Institute in Penanjong Garisson this morning.
Retired Captain Dato Paduka Abd Rahman said that the aspect that must be emphasised is discipline as without it; there will be no difference between the recruits and other people. Maintaining a high level of discipline, within or outside their working hours is a must for every army personnel. Without it, an army will be seen as weak and less effective. Therefore, they should maintain their discipline at all times as the army is a career that requires sacrifice.
In his speech, Retired Captain Dato Paduka Abd Rahman reiterated the titah of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Sovereign's Parade ceremony for the 16th intake of officer cadets last August that stressed on the unending sacrifice made for the religion, race and beloved country. Earlier, the passing out ceremony began with an inspection of the parade and March past of the 157 personnel of the 159th intake of male recruits who have completed 27 weeks of training.
Several recruits and instructors who showed outstanding performance during the training also received awards. Recruit Mohd Nurariffin Bin Mohd Husain was the overall best Male Recruit. The best in army skills went to recruit Mohammad Syafiq Zulhilmi Bin Haji Suhaimi. Recruit Mohammad Daneeal Asyraf Bin Saindi and Recruit Mohd Suhairi Bin Suaraday were the best Shooter in Light Arms and in Physical Exercise respectively. The Best Male Instructor was awarded to Corporal Rano Zakhran Bin Tajudin and Sergeant Awang Julaihi Bin Haji Awang Shari won the Best Platoon Sergeant. Also present was Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
