His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, yesterday received in audience His Excellency Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan, who is on a three-day visit to the country. The audience ceremony took place at Qashr Al-Meezaan.

During the audience ceremony, His Royal Highness and His Excellency Yasuo Fukuda discussed ASEAN-Japan relations. His Excellency Yasuo Fukuda is in Brunei Darussalam to attend the 23rd ASEAN Council of Japan Alumni Conference, ASCOJA. The conference is organised by the Brunei Association of Japan Alumni, BAJA. Accompanying His Excellency Yasuo Fukuda during the audience ceremony was His Excellency Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam. Also present during the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education.
