PETALING JAYA

Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is set to make a major announcement at a media conference on Sunday afternoon.

All Umno supreme council members received an invitation on Saturday night from the party secretary-general to attend the media conference.

It will be held at Umno headquarters at Menara Dato' Onn in Kuala Lumpur at 4.45pm.

Umno officials were all tight-lipped when asked about the agenda of Najib's media conference.

However, a source denied that the Prime Minister would announce his intent to seek a dissolution of Parliament to pave the way for a general election.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who will be attending an event in Kangar, Perlis, in the morning, will also be at the media conference.
